Admissions at SOL
Community Montessori School

Welcome and thank you for your interest in SOL Community Montessori School. Choosing a school for your child is a significant and deeply personal decision, and our admissions process is designed to support families in thoughtfully discerning whether SOL’s values, philosophy, and learning environment are the right fit for their child and family.

SOL accepts students throughout the school year as space becomes available, in accordance with classroom ratios and the balanced needs of our multi-age Montessori communities.

Programs & Availability

We accept applications year-round for the following programs:
Nido Community (2-14 months)
Toddler Community (15-36 months)
Casa Community (Ages 3–6)

Because Montessori classrooms are carefully balanced multi-age environments, placement is based on classroom composition as well as space availability. Our waitlist functions as a pool of applicants, from which children are invited as openings arise and classroom needs are considered.

Priority enrollment is offered to siblings of currently enrolled students.

The Admissions Process

Supporting a Confident and Successful Transition

Our admissions process is intentionally relational and reflective, offering families multiple opportunities to learn about SOL and for us to get to know your child.

Step 1: Submit an Inquiry

Submitting the inquiry form is the first step in the process. After submission, you will receive an email with instructions to schedule a call with our Admissions Team.
Please use consistent email addresses for both parents to ensure accurate communication.

Step 2: Parent Visit & School Tour

During your admissions call, an in-person school tour will be scheduled. We encourage both parents to attend when possible. This visit includes:
• Meeting with the Head of School or Director of Admissions
• Touring the campus
• Observing children engaged in their daily Montessori work

This parent-only visit allows families to focus fully on the learning environment, classroom rhythms, and Montessori philosophy.

Step 3: Application Submission

Families who wish to continue after the tour complete the Enrollment Application.
A one-time non-refundable €150 application fee per child is required at submission.

Applications are accepted year-round.

Step 4: Child Visit

When space becomes available, your child is invited for a classroom visit:
• Nido and Toddler applicants attend with a parent
• Children’s House applicants spend time with a guide, exploring materials and receiving sample lessons

Visits range from 30 minutes to up to two hours, depending on the child’s comfort and readiness. A follow-up visit may be offered when helpful.

Step 5: Feedback & Enrollment

Following the child visit, the Admissions Team shares teacher feedback and next steps. If enrollment is offered, families receive:
• An enrollment contract
• Registration forms
• Tuition and payment information (prorated if enrolling mid-year)

Placement considers developmental readiness, classroom balance, and program availability.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

Discover SOL
in Marbella

Located in the heart of the Costa del Sol, SOL offers children the opportunity to grow and learn in a place celebrated for its exceptional quality of life and rich cultural tapestry. Set between the Mediterranean Sea and the iconic La Concha mountain, Marbella provides a stunning natural setting that invites exploration, balance, and connection to the outdoors.

Marbella is widely known for its calm, welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of safety, qualities that allow children and families to move through daily life with ease and peace of mind. This sense of security, combined with abundant natural beauty, creates an ideal environment for childhood: one that supports wellbeing, focus, and joy.

The city is also home to a vibrant international community, where families from many cultures and backgrounds live and learn together. English and Spanish are both woven naturally into daily life, creating a bilingual, multicultural environment that reflects the global reality children are growing into. This diversity enriches children’s social awareness and supports SOL’s commitment to unity, inclusion, and respect for many ways of being in the world.

Families are drawn to the region not only for its climate and beaches, but also for its proximity to extraordinary cultural and natural destinations. Day trips to RondaSevillaGranada, including skiing in the Sierra Nevada, and Córdoba, as well as visits to Morocco, broaden family life and children’s understanding of history, geography, and culture.

SOL’s global perspective is deeply informed by this unique geographic and cultural setting. Living and learning in Marbella allows children to experience diversity within a peaceful, safe, and nurturing environment -one that encourages openness, curiosity, and a genuine appreciation for the wider world around them.
