Positive Discipline at SOL
Positive Discipline is an encouragement-based approach that supports children’s social, emotional, and academic development while nurturing a peaceful, connected community. At SOL, we intentionally teach children how to navigate emotions, resolve conflict, and interact respectfully with others, skills that support independence, responsibility, and lifelong learning.
Aligned with Montessori philosophy, discipline at SOL is guidance rather than punishment. Within clear limits, children develop independence and accountability. Guides model respect and self-control, gently redirecting struggling children toward meaningful activity. This positive approach helps students resolve conflicts peacefully and take responsibility, fostering lasting self-discipline within a joyful environment.
